Austrian Integration Centres
The three Austrian Integration Fund (=D6IF) integration centres in Tyrol, Upper Austria, and Upper Styria are information and advice centres for supporting recognised refugees and people granted subsidiary protection. At the centres, recognised refugees and people granted subsidiary protection receive extensive advice and support in all integration-related issues for up to three years after being granted asylum. The integration centres are also contact points for the Austrian public on the topic of integration. The services offered by the integration centres are based on a clear concept and include: Integration Support Integration counsellors support the clients in financial and health-related issues. They provide assistance in familial challenges and support with housing issues. In addition, there is close contact with other social services. Networking and cooperation with schools and educational institutions are also key activities at the integration centres. Mobile Support The integration centres are bases for mobile integration support in their states. Integration counsellors regularly visit recognised refugees and people granted subsidiary protection in the communities in which they live. The integration counsellors are local contacts for their clients and community residents. German Courses The integration centres arrange German courses and also offer courses. Among these are intensive German courses with job search training, literacy, communication, and mother-child courses. Job Search The integration centres of Upper Austria and Upper Styria operate job centres. Job coaches support the clients in producing application material, contacting potential employers, and through information about training and education options. In addition, job coaches provide interview and motivation training. At the Tyrol Integration Centre the job search occurs through the Trapez Project, a European Refugee Fund project. For Children The integration centres provide learning and recreation support for school children during the summer. In the Upper Styria Integration Centre there is a focus on working with children with remedial language courses and children's playgroups. For more information, please see: www.integrationsfonds.at.
